Start with the intended use
Reclaimed water can support beneficial potable and non-potable uses. An industrial reuse assessment begins by defining the intended application, then checking source water quality and the treatment needed for that use.
Build a treatment strategy
Filtration removes particles and microorganisms by size. Chlorine, ultraviolet light or ozone can provide disinfection. Advanced membranes can address some dissolved contaminants. A suitable process train requires site-specific evaluation, monitoring and attention to residuals.
A current direction in water reuse
The US EPA published its Water Reuse Action Plan 2.0 in April 2026 and highlights industrial reuse resources. This reflects continuing interest in planned water reuse. It is an international reference, rather than a statement of Indian regulatory requirements.
Bring the idea back to your site
Create a water balance, identify demand for recovered water and evaluate operational constraints. Aquashield's water audit and technical assessment services can help frame that discussion.
